Users complain: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update - The most problematic release of the year

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update, Google’s latest Android update, is in the news for reasons that are not so good. Users have been complaining that the 4.2 version of Google’s latest operating system has been shipped in with startling flaws that are tormenting their Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 10, Nexus 7, and Nexus 4 phones with a number of bugs.

Let’s take a look at the top 5 problems that users are complaining about since Google started rolling out the update:

1. Flaky Bluetooth connectivity: Many Nexus 7 users are complaining that after updating their phones with the latest update, they have been experiencing issues with Bluetooth connectivity. Due to the connectivity problems, the users are unable to stream music to their device. Users have also reported connection shutters during music playback.

2. Random rebooting: Many users of Nexus 10, Nexus 4, and Galaxy Nexus have also complaint that their devices are randomly rebooting, causing lots of interruptions and building up unnecessary frustration. Though in some cases, the reboots happen once or twice a day, in other cases, reboots occur more often.

3. Unstable auto-brightness feature: Nexus 7 users have been complaining of experiencing a bug with auto-brightness. Due to which, the brightness of the device is automatically adjusting itself without any reason. Complain forums are flooding with complains from users that their device is automatically diming the display lights and then bringing them back to the normal levels.

4. Abnormal battery drain: After updating to Android 4.2, some users are apparently complaining that their phone’s stand-by battery life has become terribly less to a point that it demands immediate attention from the user.

5. Apps crashing: Users have also complaint that after they have updated their devices, many of the popular applications, which were previously working perfectly, have stopped responding. BBC iPlayer is one such app that is facing compatibility issues with the Jelly Bean update.

Hopefully Google will quickly address to all these issues and release a patch to fix all these bugs.
